often-times we travel
far and wide
in search of that lost something
in search of union, completion
only to find
that all the while
it has been close-by
never more than a heart-beat away
more often than not
it is something that we have dis-owned
only when we finally accept
that which we struggle with, reject
union, wholeness, becomes a reality
